The annual Provincial Economic Review and Outlook (PERO)

We are proud to have been selected to compile this prestigious publication for the Western Cape Government Provincial Treasury. The PERO included a review of past economic performance and an analysis of the economic outlook for the global, national and provincial economies. The document aimed to inform policymakers, departments and municipalities on key economic trends and developments.

DESTEA Economic Reconstruction and Recovery Plan

The project aimed to develop a Recovery and Reconstruction Plan for the Free State Province to boost economic growth and job creation. It involved 1) Investigating and analysing the current Provincial Economy; 2) Establishing goals, objectives and broader strategic imperatives; and 3) Developing a plan to achieve the desired results by employing economic drivers and engines of growth.

Rooibos traditional knowledge benefits sharing

Investigated and developed non-monetary benefits sharing, and proposed governance and institutional frameworks for implementing and monitoring the Rooibos traditional knowledge benefits sharing mechanisms.

Towards a Scarce and Critical Skills Strategy

Research on the status of scarce and critical skills in the Western Cape Municipalities with the aim of informing a Draft Provincial Scarce and Critical Skills Strategy.

Tourism Crisis Management Strategy

Development of a tourism crisis management strategy that provides a framework to guide the tourism sector during crises and minimise the effects of these on the sustainability of the tourism sector.

Research on regulatory impediments on development credit

The research study aimed to identify factors that lead to less demand or supply for developmental credit in South Africa. The objective will allow the NCR to prove how different factors affect the demand and supply for this type of credit.

Work-study investigation

HSBS conducted a work-study analysis, including developing new job profiles and evaluating the current organisational structure. The project also included a review of the legislation pertaining to the office, including labour law.

Financial Modelling and Section 78 investigation research study

Section 78 investigation and re-basing of municipal tariffs. The project also included developing a tariff model, formulating policies, and developing implementation plans.

Development of a Management and Leadership Development Pipeline Framework

This project aimed to develop a Management and Leadership Development Pipeline Framework that forms the foundation for the holistic development of managers and leaders in the Western Cape Government.

Business Case Development

Conducted for programmes in the biodiversity sector for use on the Biodiversity Sector Investment Portal.

Moral Regeneration Strategy
